LASD deputy injured during shooting in Lancaster, transported to hospital

A Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputy was injured in Lancaster on Saturday and was transported to a hospital in critical but stable condition. The incident occurred around 6 p.m. near the intersection of Avenue J-8 and Challenger Way. The deputy, who has not been identified, was responding to a call when the injury occurred. The nature of the injury and the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under investigation. No further details have been released at this time.
