  • DBPD responded to a motor vehicle accident in the area of N. Halifax Avenue and Plaza Boulevard, Wednesday night.

On Wednesday night, a vehicle crashed into a tree in Daytona Beach, Florida, resulting in the death of the driver, a 39-year-old man from Ormond Beach. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on LPGA Boulevard near Derbyshire Road. According to the police, the vehicle was traveling westbound when it veered off the road for unknown reasons and collided with a tree. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and the police are continuing to investigate the crash to determine the cause.
