  • An investigation is underway after a deputy with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office shot an armed suspect during a warrant service on Wednesday afternoon.

On April 11, 2024, in Greenville County, South Carolina, a deputy-involved shooting occurred during an attempt to serve a warrant, resulting in the arrest of a suspect. The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. on White Horse Road when deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office tried to apprehend a man wanted for attempted murder. The suspect allegedly fired at the deputies, prompting them to return fire. No deputies were injured, but the suspect was shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating the shooting, and the suspect's identity has not been released.
