New Albany announced Monday that it has reached an agreement with firefighters on a new three-year labor contract.


The New Albany Firefighters Union has reached a new contract agreement with the city, which was approved by the union members on April 11, 2024. The contract, effective from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2026, includes a 4% pay increase for firefighters in the first year, followed by 3% raises in the subsequent two years. Additionally, the agreement provides for increased contributions to health savings accounts and enhancements in uniform allowances. Fire Chief Matt Juliot expressed satisfaction with the agreement, emphasizing its role in supporting the department's recruitment and retention efforts.
