Earth Day was Tuesday, but efforts to protect the environment continue in Dearborn, including a new fleet of electric school buses.
Dearborn Public Schools have introduced four new electric buses to their fleet, aiming to provide cleaner and more efficient transportation for students. The initiative, supported by a $1.3 million grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Clean School Bus Program, is part of a broader effort to reduce emissions and improve air quality. The electric buses, which are quieter and produce zero tailpipe emissions, will initially serve the west side of Dearborn, with plans to expand their use across the district. This move not only aligns with environmental goals but also offers a more comfortable and healthier ride for students.
