Two elderly women died Tuesday morning after a retirement facility's transport bus backed into a shed on the property and struck them, according to the Seattle Police Department. Emergency crews were called just after 10:30 a.m. to the 1000 block of Terrace Street, near Hilltop House, a senior living community on First Hill. The Seattle Fire Department said responders initially received a report of a vehicle collision involving two pedestrians.

An elderly woman was fatally struck by a transport van in Brooklyn, New York, on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Dean Street in Boerum Hill. The 79-year-old victim was crossing the street when she was hit by the van, which was making a right turn. She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The 57-year-old driver of the van remained at the scene, and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
