D20 hosts ribbon-cutting ceremony for new transportation facility

The Academy School District 20 in Colorado Springs celebrated the opening of its new transportation facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 17, 2023. The new 70,000-square-foot facility, located at 3000 North Powers Boulevard, replaces an outdated building and is designed to enhance the district's transportation services. It features modern amenities such as a bus wash, maintenance bays, and administrative offices, and is expected to improve efficiency and safety for the district's bus fleet. The project, which cost $24 million, was funded through a bond approved by voters in 2016. The facility not only supports the district's current needs but is also built with future expansion in mind.
