UP: Mob sets vehicle ablaze attacks four on suspicion of transporting cattle meat in Aligarh

On April 20, 2022, in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a mob attacked four individuals and set their vehicle on fire, suspecting them of transporting cattle meat. The incident occurred in the Gabhana area, leading to the arrest of 11 people involved in the attack. The victims, who were transporting buffalo meat legally, were severely beaten, and their vehicle was torched. The police intervened, rescuing the victims and filing a case against the attackers under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including attempt to murder and rioting. The police also noted that the incident was a result of misinformation and warned against taking the law into one's own hands.
