More U.S. consumers than last year say they prefer gas-powered vehicles over electric or hybrid

A recent survey indicates that a growing number of U.S. consumers are favoring gas-powered vehicles over electric and hybrid models, reversing a trend that had been leaning towards sustainable options. According to the data, 55% of respondents expressed a preference for traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, citing concerns over the range limitations and charging infrastructure of electric vehicles (EVs), as well as the higher initial costs. Only 25% favored EVs, while 20% opted for hybrids. This shift in consumer sentiment is attributed to ongoing issues with EV affordability and convenience, despite efforts by manufacturers to expand charging networks and reduce prices. The survey suggests that automakers may need to reassess their strategies to meet the evolving demands of the market.
