  • Two Brownfield residents admitted to conspiring to transport undocumented immigrants for payment.

On May 29, 2025, two men from Brownfield, Texas, identified as 34-year-old Juan Manuel Tena and 30-year-old Rosendo Rene Tena, were found guilty of transporting undocumented immigrants. The conviction followed a two-day trial in the 140th District Court, where the jury deliberated for approximately 30 minutes before reaching their verdict. The incident leading to their arrest occurred on October 15, 2023, when Terry County Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Juan Manuel Tena, discovering six undocumented immigrants inside. Both men now face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000, with sentencing scheduled for June 26, 2025.
