The incident occurred on a Wednesday afternoon, and although the cable was quickly repaired, it took several hours for the FAA's systems to fully recover. During the outage, flights were either delayed or diverted to other airports, causing widespread inconvenience. The FAA emphasized that safety was not compromised during the incident, and they are working with the communication service provider to prevent future occurrences.
