Air quality alert issued for central Ohio as wind transports wildfire smoke

An air quality alert has been issued for central and southern Minnesota due to smoke from Canadian wildfires, effective until 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency warns that the air quality may reach the red category, considered unhealthy for everyone, particularly affecting sensitive groups like children, the elderly, and those with respiratory issues. People are advised to limit outdoor activities, keep windows and doors closed, and use air conditioning on recirculate mode to minimize exposure to the polluted air.
