According to a survey by the European Travel Commission (ETC), Europeans are increasingly favoring train travel over other modes of transportation for their holidays, with 37% planning to use trains in 2023, up from 29% in 2022. This shift is attributed to a desire for more sustainable travel options, as well as the appeal of scenic routes and the comfort of train journeys. The survey also noted a significant increase in the preference for train travel among younger travelers, with 45% of those aged 18-34 choosing trains.
