Georgia Department of Transportation weekly construction, maintenance projects impacts local travel

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced several construction and maintenance projects that will impact local travel starting the week of May 13, 2025. Key projects include lane closures on I-75 in Bartow County for bridge preservation, impacting traffic from Monday to Friday; resurfacing on SR 5 in Floyd County with nightly lane closures; and bridge rehabilitation on SR 20 in Gordon County, which will involve daytime lane closures. Additionally, in Polk County, there will be intermittent lane closures on US 27 for paving operations. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and expect delays, with GDOT emphasizing safety and urging drivers to stay alert in work zones.
