A new automaker will sell an American-made compact electric truck that turns into an SUV.
The new Slate all-electric truck, developed by startup company Alpha Motor Corporation, debuted with a starting price of $49,400, but after applying federal and state rebates, the cost can be reduced to under $20,000 in certain regions. The truck features a range of 250-350 miles on a single charge, a top speed of 120 mph, and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. It is designed to be versatile, suitable for both urban and off-road use, and includes modern amenities like a touchscreen infotainment system, advanced safety features, and a spacious interior. Alpha Motor Corporation aims to start production in late 2023, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2024, targeting eco-conscious consumers looking for an affordable and practical electric vehicle option.
