The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has accused the Delhi government of crippling the public transport system by not providing sufficient funds to the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC), leading to a shortage of buses and increased waiting times for commuters. AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak claimed that the government has not released funds for new buses, resulting in a significant reduction in the number of operational buses. In response, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dismissed these claims as misleading, asserting that the AAP government has failed to utilize the funds allocated for the transport sector effectively. The BJP also highlighted that the AAP has not inducted new buses into the fleet despite available resources, exacerbating the transport issues in the capital.
