18-wheeler transporting eggs to New Mexico catches fire in southern Colorado

On June 17, 2025, an 18-wheeler transporting eggs from New Mexico caught fire on I-25 in southern Colorado, leading to the closure of the highway in both directions. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. near the town of Walsenburg. Firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze, but not before the trailer and its cargo were destroyed.
