Since entering the race to challenge Mayor Eric Adams, Cuomo has consistently held the frontrunner position.

A recent poll conducted by the Siena College Research Institute, as reported by Newsweek, indicates that former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is favored by 24% of New York City voters for the position of mayor, placing him ahead of other potential candidates such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and former Gov. David Paterson. The poll, which surveyed 803 registered New York City voters, also showed that 44% of respondents were undecided, highlighting a significant level of uncertainty among voters. Additionally, the survey revealed that 56% of voters believe the city is on the wrong track, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs in New York City.
