This profitability is a significant turnaround from previous years when GM was losing money on each EV sold. The company's CEO, Mary Barra, emphasized the importance of scaling up EV production to meet growing demand and achieve cost efficiencies. GM's strategy includes expanding its EV lineup, improving battery technology, and enhancing its Ultium platform to support a broader range of vehicles.
