Lucknow, Jun 18 (PTI) Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday inaugurated two vehicle scrapping facilities of Tata Motors with a combined capacity of dismantling 40,000 end-of-life vehicles annually. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated two new vehicle scrapping facilities of Tata Motors in Jaipur and Surat on 22 June 2024, aimed at promoting environmentally friendly practices and enhancing road safety. These facilities, named 'Re.Wi.Re – Recycle with Respect,' are designed to scrap end-of-life vehicles in an eco-friendly manner, supporting the government's vehicle scrappage policy. The Jaipur facility has a capacity to dismantle 15,000 vehicles annually, while the Surat facility can handle 10,000 vehicles per year. Gadkari emphasized that these facilities will help reduce pollution, improve fuel efficiency, and contribute to the circular economy by recycling materials from scrapped vehicles.
