  The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office says "person(s) of interest have been identified" in the homicide of New River pastor William Schonemann, also known as Pastor Bill.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) has disclosed that River Pastor's wife, Samanth Jo Burris, was the lead in a scheme to hire a hitman to kill her husband, River Pastor, as revealed in a press conference. The plot was uncovered after an informant tipped off the MCSO, leading to an investigation that involved the use of an undercover detective posing as a hitman. Burris allegedly met with the detective multiple times, discussing the murder and even providing a photo of her husband. She was arrested and charged with solicitation to commit murder, with the MCSO emphasizing the thoroughness of their investigation and the importance of community tips in solving such cases.
