Washington State Department of Transportation seeks community input on dam study at Colfax, Pasco, Clarkston events

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking public input on a study concerning the replacement of the aging Snake River Bridge on SR 129 near Clarkston, as well as the potential impacts of removing four lower Snake River dams. The study, which is part of a broader effort to assess the effects of dam removal on transportation infrastructure, aims to gather community feedback on proposed solutions for the bridge, which is nearing the end of its service life. WSDOT is particularly interested in understanding how the removal of the dams could affect local transportation needs and is encouraging residents to participate in an online open house to share their insights and concerns. The department plans to use this feedback to inform future planning and decision-making processes related to the bridge and the broader transportation network in the region.
