Ambulance catches on fire in Wailupe transporting a patient

An ambulance transporting a patient caught fire in Wailupe, Honolulu, on a Sunday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Kalanianaole Highway near the Wailupe Shopping Center. The Honolulu Fire Department responded to the scene, and the fire was extinguished within 10 minutes. Both the patient and the ambulance crew were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and the ambulance, operated by American Medical Response, was taken out of service.
