Tesla owners are offloading their cars in droves

A new industry report found a 33% increase in used Tesla listings, attributing it, in part, to Elon Musk's actions affecting the brand's reputation.
Elon Musk's announcement that Tesla will not produce new affordable models until the second half of 2025 has led to a significant increase in used Tesla listings, with a 24% rise in the US and a 47% increase in the UK over the past month, according to data from car search engine CarGurus. This surge in listings is attributed to current Tesla owners looking to sell their vehicles in anticipation of the new, more affordable models, causing a potential flood of used Teslas in the market. The increased supply of used Teslas could lead to a decrease in their resale value, impacting owners who are considering selling their vehicles.
