The study, which has been pivotal in setting the financial responsibilities of different vehicle types, contained miscalculations that led to an overestimation of the costs attributed to trucks. As a result, ODOT is reevaluating the data and methodologies used in the study to ensure a more accurate and fair distribution of road maintenance costs. This reassessment could potentially lead to changes in how road usage fees are allocated between heavy and light vehicles in the state.
