A man in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district was booked for animal cruelty after he was caught transporting 23 buffaloes in a cramped truck, violating animal transport regulations. The incident came to light when a video of the distressed animals went viral on social media, prompting swift action from the police and animal rights activists. The truck was intercepted near the Bada bypass area, and the driver, identified as Mohammad Yameen, was charged under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The buffaloes were subsequently handed over to a local gaushala for care, highlighting ongoing issues with animal transportation and welfare in the region.
