In a recent political development, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has called upon National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah to clarify his stance on the controversial claim made by NC leader Devender Singh Rana regarding the role of Dalits in the abrogation of Article 370. Rana had suggested that Dalits were instrumental in the decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, a statement that has stirred significant controversy. Mufti criticized the NC for attempting to divide people along caste lines and demanded a clear position from Abdullah on this matter. This comes amidst ongoing political tensions in the region following the 2019 decision to abrogate Article 370, which had granted special autonomy to Jammu and Kashmir.
