New AARP leader in Iowa brings community development experience to new role

The new AARP Iowa state director, Brad Anderson, brings a wealth of experience in community development to his role, having previously served as the executive director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority and as the mayor of West Des Moines. Anderson aims to focus on improving the lives of Iowans aged 50 and older by addressing issues such as affordable housing, transportation, and access to healthcare. He plans to work collaboratively with local communities and organizations to develop solutions that will enable older adults to age in place and live independently. Anderson's appointment comes at a time when the population of older adults in Iowa is growing, and AARP Iowa is committed to advocating for policies and programs that will support this demographic.
