People across New Hampshire are remembering a well-known aerobatic pilot from the Granite State who died Thursday in a plane crash in Virginia.
Daniel W. Keeton, a 50-year-old aerobatics pilot from Hampstead, New Hampshire, was remembered as a dedicated and passionate aviator following his death in a plane crash on June 16, 2024. Keeton, who had been flying for over 30 years, was killed when his single-engine Pitts S-2B crashed in a wooded area near the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport shortly after takeoff. The crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, and the cause remains unknown. Friends and fellow pilots described Keeton as a skilled and safety-conscious flyer who loved sharing his passion for aerobatics with others. A memorial service was held at the airport, where many gathered to honor his memory and celebrate his contributions to the aviation community.
