Passenger Vehicle Sales Decline 0.19% MoM, Buyers Await New Launches - FADA

The passenger vehicle sales in April 2025 saw a positive momentum. According to the Federation of Automotive Dealers Association, the passenger vehicle segment recorded a marginal growth of 1.55 per cent on a YoY basis, but saw a slight decline of 0.19 per cent on a MoM basis.

In August 2023, passenger vehicle sales in India experienced a month-on-month decline of 0.19%, totaling 3,15,153 units sold compared to 3,15,736 units in July 2023, according to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). This slight decrease is attributed to potential buyers delaying purchases in anticipation of new model launches and festival season discounts. Despite the month-on-month dip, sales showed a year-on-year increase of 6.5% from August 2022. FADA also noted that while inventory levels remain high, the upcoming festive season is expected to boost sales, with dealers preparing for increased demand.
