The Michigan-based startup Slate Auto introduced a new $25,000 electric pickup truck that could shake up the EV industry in a big way.
Slate Auto, backed by Jeff Bezos, is set to challenge Tesla and Rivian in the electric vehicle market with its new $25,000 electric pickup truck. The startup aims to make electric trucks more affordable and accessible, targeting a price point significantly lower than competitors like Tesla's Cybertruck, which starts at $39,900, and Rivian's R1T, priced at $73,000. Slate Auto's truck is designed to offer a range of 250 miles on a single charge and features a unique modular design that allows for easy customization and upgrades. The company plans to begin production in 2025 and is currently seeking additional funding to support its ambitious goals.
