New Rotherham park and ride site opens

The facility next to Parkgate Shopping Centre has 289 parking spaces and 14 EV charging points.

The new Park and Ride facility in Rotherham, located at the former Tesco site on Drummond Street, opened on November 13, offering 500 parking spaces and a bus service to the town center every 15 minutes. The service, which operates from 7am to 7pm on weekdays and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays, aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality in the town center. The project, costing £10.5 million, was funded by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and is part of broader efforts to enhance public transport and support economic growth in the area.
