Rolla man sentenced for transporting minor for sex

A 24-year-old man from Rolla, Missouri, identified as Dakota L. Harris, was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison without parole for transporting a minor with the intent to engage in sexual activity. Harris admitted to picking up a 15-year-old girl from her home in St. Louis in November 2021, driving her to Rolla, and engaging in sexual activity with her. He pleaded guilty to the charge in September 2022, and in addition to his prison sentence, he will be under supervised release for life and must register as a sex offender. The case was investigated by the FBI and the St. Louis County Police Department, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson prosecuting the case.
