The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) released their Six-Year Improvement Program (SYID) in which $7 billion dollars will be spent over the next six fiscal years.
The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced a $7 billion investment in public transportation across the country, aimed at modernizing and expanding transit systems. This funding, part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, will support 148 projects in 46 states and territories, focusing on improving accessibility, safety, and efficiency. Key initiatives include the replacement and modernization of buses and rail systems, enhancements to stations and facilities, and the development of low- and no-emission transit options.
