On May 9, 2025, U.S. Border Patrol agents at the El Paso Station apprehended a 22-year-old woman attempting to smuggle 0.33 pounds of fentanyl, valued at approximately $4,950, hidden in her vagina. The woman, a Mexican national, was taken into custody after a routine inspection at the border crossing. This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by border security in preventing the smuggling of dangerous drugs into the United States.
