  • AutoZone on Tuesday missed Wall Street estimates for second-quarter revenue, as the automotive parts retailer navigated headwinds due to consumers holding back and currency rate fluctuations.

AutoZone Inc. reported lower-than-expected quarterly revenue on March 4, 2025, due to a combination of high inflation and unfavorable currency exchange rates. The company's net revenue for the second quarter was $4.23 billion, falling short of the $4.28 billion that analysts had forecasted. Despite the revenue miss, AutoZone's earnings per share of $28.89 exceeded the expected $26.08, driven by strong demand for auto parts as consumers maintained their vehicles longer amid economic pressures. However, the company faced challenges from a stronger U.S. dollar which negatively impacted its international sales, particularly in Mexico and Brazil. Additionally, inflation continued to affect consumer spending power, influencing the company's performance.
