The Northwest ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is set to expand with the introduction of new academies focused on construction and transportation. This initiative aims to provide students with hands-on training and industry certifications in high-demand fields. The construction academy will offer courses in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, and HVAC, preparing students for immediate entry into the workforce or further education. Similarly, the transportation academy will focus on automotive technology, including collision repair, diesel mechanics, and possibly aviation maintenance. These programs are part of a broader effort to align educational offerings with local job market needs, ensuring students gain practical skills that lead to well-paying careers. The expansion is supported by partnerships with local businesses and industries, which will provide equipment, expertise, and potential job opportunities for graduates.
