Indian-origin US Congressman introduces articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump

Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi introduced articles of impeachment against former U.S. President Donald Trump on January 20, 2021, just before Trump's term ended. The articles accuse Trump of inciting an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, and of undermining the integrity of the 2020 presidential election through false claims of voter fraud. Krishnamoorthi's move was largely symbolic, as it came on the last day of Trump's presidency, but it reflects ongoing efforts by some Democrats to hold Trump accountable for his actions leading up to and during the Capitol riot.
