AUBURN HILLS, Mich.-Continental today announced the sale of Zonar, a leading smart fleet management provider, to GPS Trackit, an industry pioneer in cloud-based, IoT fleet solutions and GPS tracking. Details of the transaction, including financial terms, are not being disclosed.
Continental has sold its telematics and fleet management subsidiary, Zonar Systems, to GPS Trackit, a company known for its GPS tracking solutions. This acquisition, announced on March 28, 2023, aims to enhance GPS Trackit's offerings in the fleet management sector by integrating Zonar's advanced technology, which includes electronic logging devices (ELDs), student transportation solutions, and other fleet management tools. The sale aligns with Continental's strategy to focus on its core automotive technologies while allowing Zonar to continue its growth under new ownership that can provide dedicated attention to the evolving needs of fleet management. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but both companies expressed optimism about the future synergy and growth potential this acquisition brings.
