The public is invited to submit original photos that capture how transportation connects communities.

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is hosting a public photo contest to celebrate its 100th anniversary, inviting Illinois residents to submit photos that capture the state's transportation infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and public transit systems. The contest, which runs from June 5 to July 31, 2025, aims to showcase the beauty and significance of Illinois' transportation network through the eyes of its citizens. Participants can submit up to five photos, and winners will be selected in various categories, with the grand prize winner receiving $500 and having their photo featured in IDOT's centennial celebration materials. The contest is open to all ages, and entries must be original, high-resolution images that highlight the theme "Illinois on the Move: A Century of Transportation."
