  • A UK-based company is on a mission to make goods haulage easier and cleaner for producers in developing nations. Now thanks to a multi-million-dollar deal, its electric-truck-as-a-service model is about to expand in Rwanda and neighboring regions.

The article from NewAtlas discusses OX Delivers, a UK startup that has developed a flat-pack electric truck designed for easy assembly and distribution in developing countries. The OX truck, which can be assembled in about 12 hours, is aimed at improving logistics in regions with poor infrastructure. It features a modular design allowing for customization based on local needs, such as adding refrigeration or water tanks. The vehicle has a payload capacity of 1,500 kg and can travel up to 100 km on a single charge, making it suitable for rural deliveries. OX Delivers has already started production, with plans to manufacture 1,000 units in the first year, focusing initially on markets in Africa. The initiative not only aims to reduce carbon emissions but also to foster local economies by creating jobs and supporting small businesses with efficient transport solutions.
