  • Satellite was launched from the Vandenburg Space Force Base in the USA onboard a Falcon 9 rocket on Saturday at 10.43 AM (UAE time)

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) has successfully launched the Ethisat Satellite (Etihad Sat 2) aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, USA. This launch marks a significant milestone for the UAE's space sector, enhancing its capabilities in satellite technology and communications. Etihad Sat 2, developed in collaboration with Thales Alenia Space, aims to provide advanced satellite communication services, including high-speed internet and broadcasting, to the Middle East, North Africa, and parts of Europe. The satellite's successful deployment into orbit was confirmed by MBRSC, with the satellite expected to begin operations after a series of in-orbit tests. This achievement not only underscores the UAE's growing prowess in space technology but also supports its vision to become a key player in the global space industry.
